Hello all! There was beautiful first snow of the season in Massachusetts this morning! I spent the morning all cozied up on the couch working on my Master's thesis and some new TPT products that will hit my store ( HERE ) soon!
Today I have decided to feature a couple of my favorite spaces in my classroom. I have yet to have up to date pictures of my full classroom but will post those as soon as I get the Post Halloween Party mess all cleaned up and things back to normal :)

Low Stimuli Workstation
This area was built with one particular student in mind: P. He is my Autism superstar. He need this area to focus and to really get down to business! When he works here, he does so well! The black background and base helps keep his focus on what is being presented to him. The divider keeps his interest off of other students/ things going on in the classroom. He mainly works out of task boxes, because of his inability to write, which are all kept easily accessible on his shelf to decrease wait time. Everything he needs is on the shelf. His visuals and first then board ( you can find my first/ then board HERE ) is kept on his black mat and used throughout his lessons. P loves his work station so much, when on reward he often wanders back over here, requesting more work!

Reward Time!
Here is my reward/ play area. Each of my students completes one work task to earn a specified minutes of reward time. Each student works for different rewards and times, and is given options before work is presented to them. This helps them know what they are working towards and keeps them motivated throughout the work session. I cover up the toy/ book shelves with black curtains to lower distractive stimuli and give my room a more calm climate.
The rocking chair is a HUGE hit and number one reward choice for all of my students! And to think I found it on the side of the road one day :)

As I said earlier, I will post more classroom pictures when my classroom is back to normal. I will be implementing some fun new things this week that I am excited to share!
That's all for now!
