Today I have decided to share my top behavior management tools in the classroom. Every teacher has there own method and tools, and I have found that in every classroom its trial and fire till you find out what works. Here is a couple of my tools that I am currently sharing in my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
First things first, a FREEBIE ! Click the image to get the FREE social story and top download in my Teachers Pay Teachers store. This social story is perfect for children that have difficulty managing their anger and is complete with strategies to calm down. This story is written in the first person and uses Mayer Johnson picture symbols. It pairs perfectly with the Calm Down Choices strip also available on my TpT store page. Click the image below to get the Calm Down Choices strip!
This Calm Down Choices strip is the perfect size to use as a visual on a students desk, carry to the lunchroom, to specials or on field trips, or even to send home for family use! I have sent this home on many occasions to help families at home or out in the community. This uses Mayer Johnson picture symbols and has a cool blue background. I am a strong believer of using calming colors in the classroom!
This social story highlights Walking in the Hall ! This is a skill many of my students lack. This social story is so useful! It uses clear, positive language and illustrates appropriate hallway behavior using Mayer Johnson picture symbols. What I love most about this, is the positive language. No inappropriate behaviors are even mentioned, drawing the attention to expected behaviors!
This classic first then board is perfect for children with Autism or developmental disabilities. I use it most often to display what must be done first to earn a preferred activity. Green for go... meaning FIRST THIS. and RED for wait, this comes next.
This board is a LIFESAVER. Better than the tradition first then for kids who have difficulty anticipating whats next. One of my student always needs a motivator but sometimes he needs to do TWO things before earning that reward. This illustrates that perfectly for him and the simple design is easy for him to understand!
All of these behavior intervention tools are available for less than $4.00 in my TpT store! Check them out and as always please let me know if you need any edited versions!
That's all for now,
Miss. Alyssa
